Topic of the Day: I Am My Own Worst Enemy

It is tough when conversations have turned into typed words rather than face to face contact. You start to live inside your head and I feel as though we aren't as socialized as we once were. The conversations that we do have face to face are rarely emotional, but rather factual and to the point. The emotion has been left out and is stuck inside of us until we are ready to explode, implode, etc. I find this to not only be a generational thing, but a thing present throughout many generations.
Key note: People don't communicate effectively.
For those of us that are considered "sane" for example, avoid confrontation, act "politically" correct, keep felt emotion out of the conversation, and stay on topic. Regardless of how liberal one might think they are, picture yourself at work today or whenever you were there and I bet you can state at least one moment where you held back how you really felt due to fear of judgement or criticism of a fellow co-worker and out of fear of losing your job. I believe that it plays a huge role in our happiness of our chosen career paths. We feel that we have lost a part of ourselves in the work place because we can't truly express ourselves, therefore, we can't be ourselves.
Now how does this apply to me? You ask.
I actually do not know where I developed this attribute because at one time I considered myself very openly opinionated and expressive. However, I find myself being my harshest judge. I have somehow found myself in a place where I am constantly aware of other people's judgement, but it is actually just the opposite. It is my own judgement. I have a strong imagination and when people do not express their opinions of you or a particular situation out of fear... it leaves your own imagination to fear the worst.
The Plan?
This will take time to adjust, but I want to be more expressive and not think about what others think of me. I want to wake up in the morning and have happy thoughts all day and think that everyone thinks I'm a badass LOL because 'I' think I'm a badass. More people should be less judgmental of themselves and they wouldn't be afraid of who they are... which is probably someone great. Communication is a great skill and can be the key to happiness.

Not sure how any of this came across, but I hope that everyone found the message because it is a good one. If not, let me recap.
- Communicate face to face, we have always hid behind something...even Einstein
- Utilize your emotions, it makes us human...
- Be openly opinionated, someone will thank you...
- Be open to opinions...again, you will thank them
- Do not be fearful of what others might think or say, what is the worst that could happen...really

-
Until next time
